The Astrophotographer’s Universe iOS App

The app is now released and is available to download at no charge from the Apple App Store. It runs on any iPhone, iPad, laptop or desktop Mac with version 26 OS. The free version features over 100 of the best deep sky objects (including all those included in The Visible Universe). There is an in-app-purchase to upgrade to the Complete Edition with all 1,720 objects from The Astrophotographer’s Universe. Currently there are no versions for Android or Windows, although these are both development projects that we are considering.

Charles Bracken’s The Astrophotographer’s Universe App guides you in selecting, framing, processing, and understanding the highlights of the night sky. It offers comprehensive coverage of every worthwhile deep sky target from the NGC, IC, Sharpless (Sh2), RCW, vdB, Abell, SNR G, CG, Barnard, LBN, LDN, and other catalogs. Full acquisition details accompany every image, with separate narrowband channel images for hundreds of nebulae. From the largest supernova remnants to the tiniest planetary nebula, in both hemispheres — discover new objects to inspire your finest compositions yet.
